FAQ
Where do you offer photography services?
I'm based out of Auburn, CA but offer services throughout Northern California and wherever you want to go! Travel fees are calculated by mileage + time, and desirability of location.
How far out should I book?
I recommend booking your ideal date as soon as you know what you want! Generally 4+ weeks in advance, but I'm always accepting last minute inquiries as well. For maternity, I recommend booking during your 7th-8th month.
What is your cancellation policy?
I have a strict cancellation policy. Deposits will be forfeited for all sessions cancelled or rescheduled within 21 days of the session date. Outside of 21 days, deposits can be applied to new dates but deposits will not be refunded in any case other than death/illness.
Do you offer discounts?
I might have specials throughout the year or choose to discount your shoot if it's a creative idea that I really like.
I'm awkward in photos, will you tell me how to pose?
I'm here 100% for my fellow awkward people, please don't worry about that - I will guide and pose you & we will have fun!
How do I know when you're available in California?
I try and have my travel dates prepared throughout the year, so submit an inquiry and I can let you know what dates I'll be available! I recommend inquiring as soon as possible :)
Do you provide any props?
Props are NOT included in my sessions. All props should be provided by the client.
Should I get my hair and make up done for my shoot?
If it fits in your budget, I always recommend adding make up, and *then* hair. Professionally done make up tends to photograph well and give you a confidence boost! I don't schedule these but I can help give you direction and guidance. Ask me about my recommendations.
Am I allowed to bring a friend/family member to my session?
Absolutely! I don't recommend bringing someone that will make you more nervous/anxious during your session though... and I do prefer that you give me notice in advance, especially if it is more than one person.
What if I want my photos kept private?
As long as you're paying full price for your photos, you can chose whether they're private or shared. Either way, make sure to communicate this before the session.
What should I wear to my shoot?
I have recommendations as far as styles, colors, and coordination but this varies based on the location we're shooting at and the type of shoot we're doing (boudoir, couples, etc). Go on Pinterest or my portfolio to get some ideas, and ask me for advice!
Can I include my dog in our shoot?
Of course you can include your fur baby! But make sure that you let me know in advance because we may need to choose location with this in mind.
Do you do event photography (baby shower, birthday party, etc)?
I don't typically offer event photography but I will consider it for existing clients (not for new clients).
How soon should I expect a reply if I just sent an inquiry?
I try to respond to inquiries within 7-10 days. If it's been more than 2 weeks, please send another inquiry!
Do you offer newborn sessions?
I do offer newborn sessions, but only in-home or outdoors. In-home newborn sessions are more of a relaxed, homey, cozy look and the client provides all props.
Do you edit stretch marks? Do you photoshop if asked?
I offer a "light retouch", which means that I fade stretch marks, remove blemishes, acne, and/or small scars - but I do not alter physical features or completely remove deep stretch marks.
What happens if I am late? (Part 1)
<25 minutes: Session will be conducted within the remaining time slot; additional time will not be warranted. Images, location change, and outfit changes may be restricted.
What happens if I'm late? (Part 2)
>25 minutes: Session will be cancelled. Deposit will be forfeited and a new deposit will be required for further booking.
How early should I arrive?
Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to account for delays. Being late is discouraging, throws off energy & creativity, and causes scheduling conflicts.
What if I need to add more time?
If schedule permits & client desires to purchase additional time, the rate after your time slot is $75/30 minutes.
